Scan-to-BIM documentation and shop drawings for the outdoor plaza of the Hyatt Regency Chicago at 151 E Wacker Drive. Working from laser-scanning point clouds, I modelled the existing planters, retaining walls, stairs, railings and paving in Archicad and checked the model against the scan to capture the real conditions on site.
From the coordinated model I produced the drawing set for the new stone caps on the planter walls — an enlarged, fully dimensioned plan and the north, south, east and west elevations at 1/4" = 1'-0" — together with perspectives, a top view and scan elevations marking the work areas.
